The Reserve Bank of India continued to deliver welcome news to the Narendra Modi government by announcing a larger interim dividend than last year.

The central bank’s board met today (Feb. 18) and agreed to pay an interim dividend of 280 billion rupees ($3.9 billion) for the first half of the fiscal year, which runs from July to June. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley addressed the meeting.

Spending marks second year in a row of RBI interim payments
