
The Bank of England announced on September 27 that banknotes featuring King Charles III’s face will be in circulation from mid-2024.
The central bank said in a statement that the image of the new king “will appear on all four existing designs of the plastic banknote”, adding that “no additional changes will be made to the banknote design”.
Notes bearing Queen Elizabeth II’s image will remain in circulation until they become worn or damaged. “They will co-spread with those featuring HM King Charles
