Fox News named Jesse Waters its latest star for 8 p.m. ET primetime, as the network looks to boost ratings two months after ousting Tucker Carlson.

Waters, who rose from production assistant to one of the most popular faces on the network, has become one of Fox News’ leading conservative voices. He is currently the host of the 7 p.m. opinion show “Jesse Waters Primetime” and appears regularly on “Five Five,” one of Fox News’ most-watched shows.

As part of a reshuffling of the evening programming, Laura Ingraham’s show will begin its primetime run at 7 p.m., while Sean Hannity’s show will remain at 9 p.m. Greg Gutfield’s Comedy Show Moves to 10pm

Fox News’ primetime ratings have suffered since Carlson’s abrupt departure in April.

Fox’s 8 p.m. ratings dropped significantly after Carlson left, while upstart networks like Newsmax benefited in the weeks that followed.

Carlson has since started her own show on Twitter. Although Carlson posted the video on Twitter, he has not yet publicly explained why he was fired by Fox. His departure was reportedly the result of vulgar behind-the-scenes information uncovered during the discovery process of the Dominion lawsuit.

Meanwhile, Fox News has sent Carlson a cease and desist letter, accusing Carlson of violating his contract by launching new shows on social media platforms, NBC News previously reported.
