U.S. The Virgin Islands issued summons arrive tesla CEO Elon Musk is seeking documents for this government lawsuit JPMorgan A court filing revealed on Monday the sex trafficking of the bank’s late longtime client Jeffrey Epstein.

The Virgin Islands tried unsuccessfully to serve Musk with a subpoena issued on April 28 because of suspicions that Epstein “may have referred or attempted to recommend Musk to JPMorgan as a client,” the filing said.

In the filing, the U.S. Territory asked Manhattan Federal Court Judge Jed Lakoff to allow it to serve Musk with a document subpoena for Tesla’s registered agent.

The subpoena requires Musk to turn over any documents showing communications between him, JPMorgan, and Epstein, as well as “all documents that reflect or relate to Epstein’s involvement in human trafficking and/or his purchase of girls or women for consensual sex.” .

The Virgin Islands is suing JPMorgan for allegedly facilitating and benefiting from Epstein’s trafficking of young women to his private island in the territory for him and others to abuse.

JPMorgan has denied the government’s claims, reflected in a separate civil lawsuit pending in Manhattan federal court by a woman who says Epstein sexually abused her. JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon will be fired on May 26 as a result of the two lawsuits.

A court filing in the Virgin Islands on May 4 showed that the government had issued a similar document subpoena to Google co-founder Larry Page and had similarly had difficulty finding Page.

The district has previously issued subpoenas to Page’s Google co-founder Sergey Brin, former Disney executive Michael Ovitz, Hyatt executive chairman Thomas Pritzker and billionaire real estate investor Mort Zuckerman .

In Monday’s filing, the Virgin Islands said, “Based on information and belief that Elon Musk — CEO of Tesla Inc. and others — is a high-net-worth individual, Epstein may have submitted He recommended or attempted to recommend to JPMorgan.”

The government said it hired an investigative firm to try to find Musk’s address and contacted one of his lawyers.

The attorney has waived the requirement to serve him personally in past federal cases, according to the filing.

“The government contacted Mr. Musk’s attorney by email to inquire whether he was authorized to be served on Mr. Musk’s behalf in this matter, but did not receive a response confirming or denying his authorization,” the filing said.

CNBC has reached out to Musk for comment. In addition to being CEO of Tesla, Musk is also the head of SpaceX and the owner of Twitter.

In 2018, Epstein told new york times writer James Stewart said he has been advising Musk after the Securities and Exchange Commission launched an investigation into his comments about taking the company private.

A video in the NBC archives still shows Donald Trump talking to Jeffrey Epstein at a Mar-A-Lago party in 1992.

When The New York Times reached out to Tesla for comment, the company vehemently denied the claim, saying it was “inaccurate to say that Epstein ever advised Elon on anything.” According to an article about their interview , Epstein once predicted to Stewart that “everyone at Tesla would refuse to talk to him or be his friend.”

Epstein, a former friend of Donald Trump Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew, was a client of the bank from 1998 to 2013. In 2008, he pleaded guilty to one count in Florida of soliciting sex from an underage girl.

Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan jail in August 2019, a month after he was arrested on child sex trafficking charges.
