Three years ago we first heard about the Traqpod, a special longboard that allows riders to actually turn like a snowboard. Well, it’s now on its third version – the Traqpod 3 – and it’s the first to offer single- or dual-motor electric assist.
The Traqpod 3, currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign, is being built by Spanish electric car company La Revolta.non-electric version yes is also available, but we’ll focus on the more interesting electric option.
Like the original model, the Traqpod 3 Electric features a spring-loaded truck that folds away from under the front and rear ends of the polypropylene deck and swivels to the left or right relative to it. The decks suspended between these trucks can tilt to the sides as the user shifts their weight accordingly. Its concave design and rubber grip layers facilitate this, allowing the rider to actually press the foot down on its raised side edges.

Buyers can choose to have a 450-watt brushless hub motor on one or both rear wheels, depending on how much torque they value. Riders can switch between three gear/speed settings utilizing the Bluetooth handheld remote. Top speed will vary widely based on terrain and rider weight.
Power is provided by a custom 5.2 Ah/187.2 Wh lithium-ion battery, with a reported range of around 18 km (11 miles) on a 2-hour charge — presumably in a single-motor configuration. A regenerative braking system helps achieve this. Battery levels are displayed on the remote’s OLED screen, along with data such as speed, gear selection and distance traveled.

Front (white) and rear (red) LED running lights improve nighttime visibility. The entire Shebang is said to weigh up to 8 kg (18 lb) with one motor and 9 kg (20 lb) with two motors. It accommodates riders weighing up to 90 kg (198 lb).
Assuming Traqpod 3 Electric goes into production, Pledge 449 euros (around $492) will get you one with a single motor, while buying two will set you back €649 ($712). You can see it in action in the video below.
