German cargo bike manufacturer Ca Go revealed the triple-heavy CS range of cargo e-bikes, which combine aspects of a short-tail truck and front loader for nimble and compact urban riding, capable of hauling up to 75kg of cargo or gear.

There are three models in the CS series that share many basic features. At the top of the line is the 6,490-euro (about $7,080) CS200, which features an aluminum frame, reinforced seatpost, dual-wire steering (for more natural handling) and a dual-foot center stand for improved parking stability.

The adjustable seat height and handlebar stem, combined with a fairly low stride should support a rider height of 1.65 to 2 meters (5.4 – 6.6 ft), while the cargo e-bike has a footprint of 2,040 x 480 mm (80.3 x 18.9 inches), which should facilitate parking at regular bike spots.

Its big belly behind the front wheels can accommodate a 40 x 33 cm (15.75 x 13 in) crate or a package weighing up to 30 kg (66 lb) and benefits from a low center of gravity. There is another cargo rack in front of the handlebars, rated at 18 kg (39.6 lbs), and the multi-purpose rear rack can hold 27 kg (59.5 lbs). Total capacity up to 75 kg (165.35 lbs) per trip.

With a compact footprint of 2,040 x 480 mm, the CS cargo e-bike should make it easy to park in the city center

To help riders push for strong traction, Ca Go has opted for a Bosch Cargo Line mid-drive motor that delivers 85 Nm (62.7 lb-ft) of torque and 400 percent pedal assist at speeds up to 25 km/h (15.5 mph hours) with a Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt, Enviolo variable-shifting rear hub, and an automatic mode that takes care of adjusting power levels so the rider can focus on the road. There is also a useful hill-hold feature for preventing rollback (or forward).

The motor is matched to a removable 545 Wh PowerPack, but a 725 Wh battery can be selected for greater intervals between charges. Bosch smart system with LED remote and Kiox 300 display, plus app compatibility.

The cargo e-bike rolls on 20-inch wheels wrapped in puncture-resistant Schwalbe Pick-Up Cargobike tires and features Suntour suspension forks to help smooth out uneven terrain. Stopping power is provided by Magura hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors. Rounding out the key specs are Supernova lighting for day or night visibility, ABUS locks and full fenders.

The similar €5,990 CS150 model swaps the Gates belt for a KMC e101 chain, removes the rear rack, and doesn’t have the Bosch Kiox display. Priced at €5,590, the CS100 lacks the Enviolo CVP hub, but is otherwise similar to the CS150.
