The Comedy Pet Photography Awards has revealed its 25 funniest finalists for 2023, sure to make you smile.

The Comedy Pet Contest was created by professional photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam to celebrate the positive and important role our pets play in our lives and to raise awareness about animal welfare.

Whether it’s a canine version of Zorro, a cat modeled after Albert Einstein, or a photo that proves that dogs do look like their owners, this year’s shortlist contains some great images.

Among them, the one that touched us the most was “Big Boss” by Japan’s Morinaga Kenichi. He said that although the cat named “Big Boss” looks grumpy, it is gentle and kind.

In the image below, Luna looks particularly happy amidst… well, foliage, but Zurich, Switzerland-based photographer Corinne Mooser assures us that it’s just regular cannabis used for industrial purposes.

While cats and dogs dominated the competition, other animals also made it into the top 25. For example, owner Darya Zelentsova from Massachusetts, USA, photographed Boudicca, a two-and-a-half-month-old ferret, on her first walk outdoors. extrusion!

The Comedy Pets founders couldn’t be happier with the variety and joy of this year’s entries.

“Once again we saw some really interesting entries in the competition, this year with a wide variety of animals from ferrets to turtles to donkeys, as well as hundreds of hilarious cats and dogs,” said co-founder Tom Sulam Sullam) said. “Now that we’re looking for the 2023 Comedy Pets overall winner and of course the People’s Choice Award winner, there’s something for everyone.”

For those of you who would like to participate in the judging process and help nominate this year’s People’s Choice Award winners, you can do so here.
