TechCrunch Disrupt is a global event, and the Startup Battlefield 200 cohort reflects the wealth of geographic talent the world has to offer. While we’ve never had a startup from Antarctica, it might just be a matter of time. However, now we are looking at the countries that make up Asia Pacific and Oceania.
Asia Pacific and Oceania: Join Startup Battlefield 200
Time is running out, so we urge all startups living in the Far East, Middle East, South East or down South Apply for Entrepreneurship Battlefield 200 At Disrupt 2023. Application window closes May 15 at 11:59pm PDT.
The SB 200 is the preeminent competition in the entrepreneurial world with global reach. The inaugural team, which debuted at Disrupt 2022 last year, included 14 startups from seven Asia-Pacific/Oceanian countries, including Australia, India, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
Two startups from the region were selected as SB 20 finalists. The founders of BetterData (Singapore) and Digest.ai (United Arab Emirates) pitched to the entire Disrupt audience, which included top investors from around the world, for a $100,000 prize in the Startup Battlefield competition.
Benefits of TC Disrupt 2023 for Startup Battlefield 200
SB 200 membership has its perks, the first of which is the coveted TechCrunch Seal of Approval. Then there’s intense (and invaluable) investor and media interest. SB 200 founders also have access to a host of free perks, benefits and opportunities.
Enter interrupt: This includes four additional passes and VIP access to all presentations, breakout sessions and roundtables.
Exclusive workshops and master classes: SB 200 founders will be attending workshops in the weeks leading up to Disrupt. They also received special pitch training from TechCrunch staff and a free one-year TechCrunch+ membership.
Disrupt’s Flash Tone: This particular training comes in handy when you step onto the presentation stage and pitch in front of investors and TechCrunch editors. Receive valuable feedback – who knew? – You might even interest investors.
Exhibition space in the showroom: SB 200 will be the only early-stage startups permitted to exhibit at Disrupt.
Saving the good stuff for last: All SB 200 founders have the opportunity to compete for $100,000 in the Startup Battlefield pitch contest. TechCrunch editors will select 20 startups from the SB 200 to be finalists in the Startup Battleground. Founders from these 20 companies will be featured on TechCrunch, receive private pitch instruction, and then pitch live in front of the entire Disrupt audience. The final winner will receive a $100,000 equity-free prize and all honors.
